June 24 marks four years since the Supreme Court took Roe, ripping away nearly fifty years of our right to control our own bodies. We know exactly who did it, and we have made them fight for every inch since.
Now, Trump and his goons are coming for abortion pills and pushing laws that would treat women who end a pregnancy like criminals.

Good Trouble Lives On!
Across America, let’s make good trouble.
We are facing the most brazen rollback of civil rights in generations. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action.
Join us on July 18th as we:
• TEACH our community members about the critical fight for our freedom to vote,
• REACH out to our neighbors to bring them into this movement, and
• PREACH to our loved ones about the moral necessity to carry the torch of the civil rights movement.
Registration is now OPEN. Registration encouraged, but not required.

Bedford, Va D-Day Visibility Brigade (Copy)
On Saturday, June 6th, D-Day, Democracy Day is coming and we want you to join us in Bedford to honor those who fought fascism on the beaches of Normandy by bringing that same spirit of resistance peacefully home. Exact location will be sent before the event! Our action will be connected to a thousand other Visibility Brigades on D-Day, with one mission: to help save our country. HONOR THE BEDFORD BOYS BY STANDING UP TO FASCISM! Our Messaging: Pro-democracy. Anti-fascist. Rooted in history, urgent in the present. We honor those who gave everything in WWII, lift up FDR's Four Freedoms, and draw a clear line between the sacrifices made on those beaches and the moment we are living through right now. We will supply a large message for passing cars to see that you can stand over and wave. You are welcome to bring your own smallers signs, play music, wear inflatables, costumes and bring gift cards to donate to a local veterans aid group. If you are a veteran, we would be especially honored if you could join us! Democracy Day is built on joy, creativity, and community. To learn more about the Visibility Brigade movement, please visit www.VisibilityBrigade.com! Once you sign up, we will share more information as we get closer to this event!

Nonviolent Lynchburg Silent Peace Vigil
A silent peace vigil is a form of nonviolent direct action where participants remain quiet to demonstrate disapproval of conflict or to advocate for reconciliation. Unlike a protest, which may involve chanting and marches, a silent vigil focuses on reflection, prayer, and "watchfulness" to advocate for peace and reconciliation

May Day Strong MORNING VISIBILITY BRIGADE AND PROTEST
May Day (International Workers’ Day) originates from the labor movement of the late 1800s, including the Haymarket Affair, where workers fought for the 8-hour workday. Today, it is a global day of solidarity for workers, immigrants, and communities advocating for economic justice.
Following the examples of the historic 2006 day without immigrants that reshaped May Day and the Black-led corporate campaigns that have unseated CEOs, to Minnesota’s resistance to occupation.
Because when the billionaires break every rule, it’s going to take more than a rally to stop them.
Together we will flex our collective power in a tremendous day of action - rallying, marching, and taking action to demand a country that puts workers over billionaires, with many refusing business as usual through No Work. No School. No Shopping.
Not everyone can participate in the general strike and that is okay!!
If you cannot takeoff work or school then participate in an economic blackout day where you do not spend any money at big box retailers, online, or at chain restaurants and stores!
Shop small, use cash! Even better buy gift cards ahead of time to small businesses.
Protest is another important part of May Day.
This year the focus is on specifically drawing attention to corporations that have enabled ICE!
Locally, we are focusing our events on major corporations that have enabled ICE in terrorizing communities and have locations in Lynchburg. Enterprise Rent A Car provides fleet rentals to ICE.
We will have a morning from 8 am to 9am protest of Enterprise on Old Forest Road between Whitehall Rd & Old Forest Rd and Old Forest Rd & US-221 (staying on sidewalks and grassy easements on the Old Forest Road side of the shopping center)
