KEY TAKE-AWAYS:
The Virginia State Senate and House of Delegates voted YES on a constitutional amendment protecting reproductive healthcare (e.g. abortion) statewide. This amendment will go before voters later this year.
Members of City Council are looking to extend the zoning restrictions on abortion clinics from 500 feet to 1000 feet which would functionally ban them city-wide (sex offender restrictions are only 500 feet).
City Council also plans to vote on loosening 2nd Amendment restrictions on firearms in anticipation of state legislators strengthening them.
There has not been a Planned Parenthood in Lynchburg since 2009
